Suzlon of India wins bid battle for German Wind power Group Repower

Suzlon’s victory, with a cash offer of $1.6bn, marks only a second bid battle by an Indian company in Europe and re-enforces its position as one of the World’s leading suppliers of wind turbines at a time when the market is growing rapidly.

French company Areva in failing with their own bid, suffered a blow to their ambitions to become a global operator in the renewable energy business beyond nuclear power.
